St. Julies Volunteers All are welcome
Thank you for considering becoming a volunteer with St. Julie Billiart's Youth Ministry. Our volunteers help in a variety of ways in youth ministry and with the life of the parish. We have many Volunteer Opportunites to consider. Before you get started, please be aware that we abide by all of the guidelnes set by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles for maintaining safe envirionments for our children. To begin helping at St. Julies, you must first complete the following steps based on your age and involvement.
(18 and older)
To be in compliance with Archdiocsean policies for working with youth all adults must attend the three hour Virtus Safeguard the Children Class held at any location. A copy of the certificate needs to be brought back to the parish office. You can find a upcoming class here. In addition, adults must also schedule an appointment to be fingerprinted through the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Fingerprinting schedules can be found here. Finally adults must also fill out a copy of the Guidelines for Adults Interacting with Miniors form which can be found here.
To ensure the safety of children and youth in the Archdiocese of Los Angles, all youth volunteers-both junior high and high school students, including students who are already 18- who work or volunteer with children in a school or parish settings must recieved training on these Bourdary Guidelines before undertaking their ministry. Opportunities for Youth
Our youth have a wide range of opportunities to get involved through St. Julie's. Some weekly commitments include helping with the 5pm mass as a lector, Eucharistic minister, usher, or greeter. Teens are also encouraged to join Peer Ministry to further deepen their faith in a leadership role as well. To become a Peer Minister click here. Other opportunities are available through the year. Send us an email and we will get you connected.
Opportunites for Adults
Do you have a passion for your faith and for teens? If so, we like to invite you to join us as a catechist for confirmation, junior high youth ministry, or become a youth ministry mentor. Contact Daryl Hitt for more information.
